“If you don’t get out of the box you’ve been raised in, you won’t understand how much bigger the world is.”
Have you ever considered becoming a nomad? Are you a retired American and curious what life would be like in a lower cost locale? Wonder what it would really cost to pull the trigger? Today’s Daily Dose shared by PsychoTraveller is a great primer for that wandering mind. Aly, creator of PsychoTraveller, breaks down the monthly cost of living well in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Aly is a digital nomad who has traveled to a vast array of countries for multiple years. Her awesome blog and YouTube Channel share first hand tips about packing, obtaining VISA’s, and finding accommodations overseas. Aly does a super job of exploring and documenting the cities which she visits, she includes tours and recommends cities which are nomad friendly. Aly’s partner in crime, Scotty has his own channel focused on travel and has just launched a forum-based site for nomads called Backpackyack.com.
Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai means “new city” and as such has positioned itself to become a Creative City, where cultural and creative ideas are part of the economy. If you do a bit of poking about YouTube, you will see Chiang Mai is a part-time home to many creatives and nomads. Two of my favorite creators, Brittany and Conor, host an annual Fruit Winter Festival, coming up in January! Learn more about Chiang Mai here.
Please visit and support these two travelers so they may keep producing great content for any wanting nomads who may be a bit more stationary at the moment. Many thanks to Aly and Scott for their work, may they enjoy continued fulfilling travels.
Enjoy this week, Stay Wise and Nomadic!
