Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
I created this site many months ago but have yet to produce something tangible. Then I read a post called “Not everyone needs a Leica” by James Tocchio; find it at https://casualphotophile.com/2016/02/05/not-everyone-needs-a-leica/
The well-crafted post describes a frustrated teen photographer who cannot afford the best gear and the writer’s frustration in not stopping the teen to remind him to keep ticking away at his trade, with or without the best gear. Natural passion and creativity trumping external resources. Said reading provided me with encouragement to begin this endeavor.
The goal of this site is to share the amazing content available online with regard to wisdom. The simple definition of wisdom according to Merriam-Webster is “knowledge that is gained by having many experiences in life”. Having moved through life as an unwise grouch for nearly forty years it’s my obligation to share some of the talks and readings which have helped me move to a place of contentment. These resources are what I call wise drugs, more effective than smart drugs and less expensive than street drugs. Although, as you may see, concepts which are quite addictive.
Just as that budding teen photographer in Tocchio’s post, I may not have the best gear. I’ve never written anything for the masses to digest; so I’ll start with one small step.
Thanks for reading. I hope you laugh with me, or at me, and possibly learn something worth sharing.
